Tea Party and Baby Shower

Dear Church Family,

This request came to me late last week:
Hi Randy, Marie Schockey here.
I wanted to know if you have ever had an absentee baby shower at the church for someone that is not able to attend.
We have a little family in Juarez, a daughter to one of our pastors. She and her husband had twin baby boys, 2 1/2 months early. So far things are going fairly well. But they never had a baby shower and are needing some items before they bring the babies home from the hospital. Clothing is not one of the items, it mainly has to do with daily care items such as lotion, shampoo, bottles, and such.  They are having to find people to donate blood. If not, they have to pay around $200 per unit of blood that was given to the babies before they will be allowed to leave the hospital. So far five of the nine units needed have been given by some of our other pastors, policemen, and firemen that he ministers to. Because of Covid, so many do not qualify to give blood. That is only to say that they are not financially stable enough to buy what they need.
If this is a possibility, what would be the best way to go about it?
Thanks,
Marie

After talking it over with Irene and Marie, we thought we might be able to accomplish two things at once. As you saw in my previous email, we are trying to set aside time to strengthen the bonds of fellowship between us and especially to get better acquainted with those who are new to our congregation. We have decided it might be fun to have a ladies tea party and include meeting the needs of this Juarez pastor family as a part of it. I am including the items Marie says they are most in need of at the end of this email. Please contact Irene if you would like to help plan the tea party. We have scheduled it for Saturday, April 8th. I know that doesn't give us much time to plan but this family's needs help right now. I'll keep you posted on time and other details as they arrive.
