Good Morning Vista Hills!

Dear Church Family,

Here we are in day one of Worksafe/Stay Home. This is the day the Lord has made. Isn't that great. It may not be the day we imagined but it most certainly is the day He has made. The circumstances all fall under his sovereign domain. Therefore, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Let us accept, embrace and be thankful for today's provision. Let us pray for one another. Let us also pray for those who do not know Him.
Can you imagine what it must be like to live today without God? They must  be wondering how they will get through. I am sure many of them are afraid of losing their jobs or homes. Can you imagine how fearful it would be to have only the US government to depend upon with all of it's corruption and political infighting? I shudder to think what it must be like to have only government or science to look to for answers. We have an eternal, all powerful, loving Father to take care of us. They don't. Read and hear in your heart the great anthem of the redeamed from Psalms 20.
Psalm 20:1-7 (NASB)
May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
May He send you help from the sanctuary And support you from Zion!
May He remember all your meal offerings And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.
May He grant you your heart's desire And fulfill all your counsel!
We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.
Some boast in chariots and some in horses, But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God.
We can see their fear in the empty shelves. We can see their fear in the long lines at the food bank and at the testing sites. How desperate they must be. And I am sure they are looking for someone to tell them how to make sense out of it all. As we pray for our Vista Hills family members can we pray for those who are living through this without Christ as well?
Yesterday I sat outside in my drive-way. One by one neighbors dropped by to say hello. We chatted a bit. Each offered help to us and we offered help to each of them. We spoke comfort and truth to each one. Our message was simple. God is in control and we are here for you.
What an amazing opportunity God has given us today! We can become in actuality the light He specifically willed us to be.
Matthew 5:14-15 (NASB)
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house."
He is saying here that only a fool lights a lamp and then hides it. He is leaving unsaid that He is not a fool. He lit your lamp with the intention that it shine.
May I make a suggestion this morning? Take your eyes off the weather and look to the field instead. What I mean is don't be consumed in keeping track of the circumstances. God has that under control. That is His role, not yours. Instead, look into the faces of your neighbors. Folks are open right now for interaction. Love them. Pray for them. And ask God to give you an opportunity to get to know them so that you can speak a word or two about Him into their lives. I promise you, you will enjoy and He will bless.
Your Servant,
Randy
