In our small groups tonight we will be reviewing unit #7 "The Crisis of Belief", which is in essence a "fork in the road" that the Lord brings us to. Here is where we are forced to decide if we're going to take the easy path and miss out on experiencing Him OR take the much harder path and trust that God will do miraculous things that are way beyond our own ability. This is where the rubber meets the road folks! Of course, we must never forget that not choosing either path means that we have in fact made our choice.
But that's not the reason for this email. On Day 5 the topic turns to how true faith must lead to action on our part, and we read about the heroes of the faith in Hebrews 11. This passage always blows me away because it lists those who have sacrificed so much as a result of their faith, and then God simply concludes that "the world was not worthy of them". How would you like to have that engraved on your tombstone?
During the day today, I would like us all to meditate on "the world was not worthy of them". Have any of you ever known someone that the Lord can make this statement about? I have. Perhaps we can talk about some of these folks tonight in our small groups.
I am so thankful for my church family, and hope to see each of you tonight.
